Danny Rolling. Lyle Menendez. Willie Turner. Richard Ramirez. Jim Turner. What do all these men have in common? First, they are all America?s most wanted - convicted murderers and rapists. Secondly, they have intimate relationships with free women. This compelling HBO-produced documentary probes deep into this growing phenomenon of love and marriage among women on the outside and killers on the inside. (According to statistics, there are currently 3,392 men on death row. Most of them are in relationships with at least one woman. High-profile killers such as Ramirez, Rolling or Menendez reportedly receive at least 500 letters every year from lonely women expressing interest in them.) To elucidate why these women gravitate towards the killers, five case studies are spotlighted with exclusive interviews with six romantically involved women and two of the convicted killers. Also featured are comments from law-enforcement officials who detail the horrific circumstances of the killers’ crimes, as well as family members of several of the women and their responses to this unusual union.
